The RENNtech wide body C74 package made its appearance at the 2011 China (Guangzhou) International Automotive Aftermarket Show. The 2011 CIAAS is the largest automotive product trade show in China and was hosted this year at the Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou Poly World Trade Expo September 15th-17th. This show is the equivalent to the SEMA show in the United States and plays host each year to well over 60,000 spectators from across the globe.The One Hundred Tuning Club’s C74 Widebody was displayed in the 360 Forged Wheels booth during the event.
The vehicle started life as a 2010 C63 and was transformed via the full RENNtech C74 wide body exterior package as well as a host of other performance upgrades. “The (final) result is nothing short of spectacular, and I am extremely pleased! I want to thank you and your company for producing a superb product” said Gary Z . at One Hundred Tuning Club, a high end and luxury vehicle tuner based in Bejing, China.

On April 1, 2011, RENNtech regained their long standing title of worlds fastest Mercedes Benz. Our RENNtech modified CL65, which held the long standing previous record once again reigned supreme by shattering its previous best quarter mile time with an unprecedented run of 10.27 @ 137.46 mph at Palm Beach International Raceway. This official time makes our CL 65 the fastest Mercedes on the planet.
The previous record of 10.51 @ 135.11 mph, also held by RENNtech’s CL65, was broken just last week by a C63 running 125 shot of nitrous which logged a 10.41 @ 135.27 mph run on 3/25/2011. Not one to be bested and looking to regain the title; RENNtech went back to work in search of even more from the CL 65 with further improvements and without the use of nitrous. Modifications to the CL 65 included an even more aggressive race only tune, enhanced drive line modifications such as upgraded transmission internals and a prototype torque converter and additional light weighted vehicle components. These are in addition to the already installed RENNtech modified ECU/TCU, carbon airbox, limited slip differential, high flow exhaust, drag radials, modified heat exchanger and intercooler pump.

RENNtech was thrilled to attend this years Festivals of Speed event at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami this previous weekend. For the event we brought with us our C74 project, as well as displayed a few customer vehicles featuring an impressive array of RENNtech modifications. Over the last 100 years, Mercedes Benz has been responsible for designing arguably some of the most beautiful cars ever built. Sadly, most of these early examples have faded away or fell victim to the ravages of time; leaving but a handful of road going examples. So what did Hot Rods and Custom Stuff, located in Escondido, California do when a client asked for a fully custom vehicle that featured the design of a 50 year old MB classic with current MB technology? Their interpretation created something truly special.
The creators of the “Mercedes-Bent,” as the project was dubbed, strategically lengthened and widened a 1961 190SL body to fit over the platform and running gear of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL600 with a 6.0L twin turbo V-12 power plant. The result is this stunning vehicle which boasted old world charm, with all the new school bells and whistles.
The talented team at Hot Rods and Custom Stuff then came to RENNtech to give their modern classic stunning performance to match it looks. With that, nothing was left on the table and RENNtech provided our full line of performance tuning parts for their build. This included our carbon fiber air boxes and engine cover, ECU tuning upgrade, TCU upgrade, suspension lowering module, upgraded intercooler pump, RENNtech big brake kit 3 with 8 piston front calipers and 4 piston rears, RENNtech camber and toe suspension links and a 100% locking rear differential.
The Mercedes “Bent” proved to be one of the most touted cars to stroll onto the 2010 SEMA floor, winning the Mothers Choice Award for Excellence in Automotive Design as well as runner up for best in show .
